Work hard, Play hard, Give something back …..
Enlight is the Entrepreneurial Exchange's charity. We are a venture philanthropy and our mission is to enable ambitious charities, social enterprises and non-profits tackling persistent social and economic problems, to reach their full potential, be more effective and transform the lives of more people.
Work hard, play hard, give something back. These are the values we share as members of the Entrepreneurial Exchange. Enlight is an innovative way to focus some of our charitable and community support. By working together and pooling our financial and non-financial resources, whether we can give just a few hours or a few days or time, a few hundred or a few thousand pounds, our members make a bigger difference. Enlight acts as a catalyst and a co-ordinator for collaboration, creating a new way of working that encourages shared learning, creativity and ambition - a similar approach to the Entrepreneurial Exchange.
Enlight currently supports non-profit organisations working with young people under 25 in Scotland to enable them to achieve their full potential. We have developed two investment programmes to help us achieve our vision.
Our Strategic Programme focuses on one of the most significant challenges in Scotland today - supporting young people who are looked after or in care in Scotland. There are currently over 15,000 children in Scotland who are looked after by local authorities, an increase of 3 per cent since 2008. They have some of the worst life opportunities and often find the transition to independent adult life difficult. Our programme is working with innovative local authorities to make a strategic, systemic change, not just for this generation but for years to come.
Our Change Programme provides hands-on management support, strategic advice and funding to charities and social enterprises. The charities have to be seeking our unique investment package and be at a critical stage in their development, where support from Enlight would create a step change in their organisation. We will only support organisations that deliver results, are ambitious and have the potential to benefit large numbers of young people.
