The new pair of eyes and the addition of the business acumen of an experienced non executive director (NXD) can be an invaluable asset to any growing business. This session looked at how to find, appoint and reward NXD's and looked at what rights and duties they have within the organisation.
Here are some comments/tips taken from delegates who attended this event:
"Wish I had attended this event 10 years ago"
"Excellent speakers as always"
"Certainly gave me a few hints/tips to think about when agreeing to take up NXD positions"
"Non-executive directors have a key role to play, however it is key to understand what you need from them and to choose carefully"
"NXD's can be worthwhile but so also can ad hoc chats with experienced people. Be very careful about your criteria in the selection process. Both speakers were clearly very credibe, very experienced and would no doubt be able to offer my company invaluable advice"
"Got lots of tips, everyone needs a mentor is some shape or form"
"Try to speka with a "mentor" every week - even if it is just for a coffee. Be very careful aboutt taking on additional NXD's"
"Excellent event, certainly gave me food for thought"
