Excellent real life examples provided by both Colette and Colin. This included a good balance of initiatives that were successful and those that weren't (lessons learnt from those experiences). Some very valuable contributions also provided by other attendees
A very open and honest group. Everyone contributed positively.
The event was very interactive, everyone had something to contribute and there were many ideas from around the table. Nuggets for me: Putting fun back doesn't need to cost anything. Go back to basics. Try and instil the excitement back into the business that you felt when you started up. Remain focussed. Remain positive
Excellent well prepared speakers who also paid attention to the needs of the room
Great night, great speakers. I know Colette really well but still managed to pick up so many tips. Colin seems to have a great business and it was refreshing to hear the downs as well as the many ups
Speakers were brilliant! They highlighted points for thought and discussion. It was a small group and therefore easy to converse with the speakers about individual problems
It was good to hear other people's views on how they manage their staff and in particular, the tools they employ to motivate them. It was also useful to hear the mistakes that people had made along the way in recruiting the wrong people
Key tips for me was to avoid compromise when trying to recruit/retain the key members of your team. Act quickly in relation to underperforming employees
Key tip for me - people are your only asset.
Key tips for me - career pathway/academy for team members. The importance of culture and how to keep it as an organisation grows
The evening made me reassess a couple of decisions I'd made re recruitment of staff
Key tip for me was the importance of training and the academy approach
