A fundamental switch in what you do needs a stiff resolve backed up by having a surefire strategy and the marketing data to show you what you need to do, and how you need to do it. But the rewards can be great for those who have the vision and the drive to steer their business in a new direction.

The speakers were very open and honest in the challenges they have experienced in each of their sectors. I felt it was good to know some of the things we are focusing on in our business are being run very well if not better by others
I am not keen on networking events, never enjoy them, but this was not like a networking event. This event was a like minded group of people who trusted one another enough to speak about real issues and share real stories. The honesty of the people involved was very powerfull
Excellent observations from Alfie and Alastair, both of whom came at it from opposite ends of the spectrum. Alfie's lessons about never stop learning and developing and keep up the standards and have the right people even if you need to make difficult decisions was excellent. Alistair's ten points to success was great and also his focus on client revenue streams is something that I am going to apply to our business development strategy right away
The value in these events is meeting new people and hearing successful people interact and relate their experiences
These Focus Dinners are all about open and honest discussion and advice with people with real experience
Key tips for me - people - people - and vision
There are common issues that we all face in business. One big piece last night was that the Management Team that takes a business from £2m to £6m p/a is unlikley to be the Management Team that can take the business to £20m revenue p/a
Have a clear goal and keep to the basics
High growth requires changes in the leadership team as they grow through diffferent stages. These have to be done in acccordance with a strong set of belief and values
Bob makes everyone feel part of the evening and he draws great answers out of speakers
Bob kept the meeting on time, but in a very subtle way - used humour to lead the meeting, worked very well for me
Bob, as always kept the evening moving along smoothly, interjecting where appropriate with humour and humility
Bob was a very effective and inclusive Chairman. A truly inspirational individual
Bob Chaired a very 'interactive' dinner with the right level of control and usual humourous light touch!
Alfie - Wow! All heart and vision great combination
Alfie and Alastair both gave a good honest story and were very open
Alfie's passion, vision and honesty shone through, as did his natural impatience with anything resembling mediocrity
Alfie was open, honest, passionate and engaging
Alastair was open, honest, thoughtful and informative
Alastair had a great family story and history. Interesting that he's growing the business to hand over, not to sell!
Excellent evening with an informal atmosphere where you can feed off the energy of genuine achievers
