As part of our Challenges and Opportunities series, members of The Entrepreneurial Exchange took part in a short survey at the end of last year to get an update on the real issues they were facing, whether there was a new set of challenges facing business, and whether there were signs of economic recovery and new opportunities. The survey results were analysed by Prof Colin Mason at the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship who concluded that we were not out of the economic woods yet and caution was the watch-word for most businesses. In spite of this, opportunities for growth were there but of particular concern was that these opportunities were being constrained by the lack of access to bank funding.
We have discussed the findings with our new banking partners at Clydesdale Bank and established that there are ways in which to get in the best shape to raise debt finance. In this special event hosted at the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship at the University of Strathclyde, Prof Mason will present the findings of the survey and we will hear from Robert Gibson and David Henderson from Clydesdale Bank who will present a practical guide to raising debt finance in the current environment. This event follows on immediately from the Annual General Meeting and we look forward to seeing you there.
