Feedback

I learnt a lot about not only franchising, but also within the same industry as ourselves

The value for me was listening to the speaker Hamish Robertson telling his story about how he built up to his franchishing business

Value was obtained by listening to Hammish's account of why he set up a franchise model and to hear how he would do it differently if he started again

Good debate around the table on the merits of franchising. Established businesses looking at franchising as a means to expand - thereby providing greater business insite to all

Key tips were not what to try and not try when starting a franchise business. No point in making the same mistakes as someone else

My key tip - Mangement fees to do the ADMINISTRATION of these businesses should be started at a reasonable level and maintained

Key tips; Be careful you do not put too much money into advertising your franchise especially at trade shows. Make sure you align your franchise model up with the requirements of the British Franchise Association to gain a standard as soon as you go above 20 franchises look to stop paying for their services as you will not get the return. That the people you franchise too might not take it as a serious business and expect to take time off when ever they like or that they will only work their opening hours. That to run and promote your franchises cost a lot of money per month.

The merits of providing qualified leads to franchisees, thereby allowing the franchisor to charge a higher management services fee and generate a higher return

First time I met Collette, lovely person and great chair! She kept control of the meeting and the pace was great. We also finished on time which is always a bonus!

Colette was very good she managed the evening in a relaxed manner giving views when appropriate

Colette facilitated very well, moved the conversation on when required and brought all parties around the table into the conversation/debate

Hamish was very knowledgeable, spoke in a lot of detail and held nothing back. Great guy!

Hamish gave a very confident presentation

I wish Hamish all the best in his sector. Hamish shows amazing potential to spot a huge unexploited franchise model and to still be the only IT support Franchiser on the market is a testament to his vision and determination to make his company a success story

Hamish provided excellent insight into his experience as a franchisor. This included some of the areas that he would do differently and those that have worked well for him
