Kirsten qualified in physiotherapy (Australia) in 1989 and moved to Edinburgh where in 1992 she founded The Physiotherapy Centre, now the largest privately owned physiotherapy business in Scotland and operating in both Edinburgh & Glasgow. Kirsten continues to guide The Physiotherapy Centre whilst maintaining patient contact part time. Her team of therapists who reflect standards of excellence in treatment of spinal pain, chronic pain and sporting injuries (both professional and amateur, including touring performers such as those involved stage shows like Riverdance, Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera).

Her own past clients range from those suffering from everyday problems to Olympic athletes, European circuit golfers and star performers (Kirsten was consultant physiotherapist on 'The Jacket', a George Clooney movie shot on location in Scotland). Having a Diploma in Pianoforte she is a specialist in musicians' injuries and has lectured to professional organisations such as the British Association of Performing Arts in Medicine, Napier University and other national medical, eHealth and physiotherapy organisations such as PhysioFirst qand the British Institute of Musculoskeletal Medicine.

For 6 years she devoted time to scientific golf research, taking 2 full year's sabbatical. She lectured for the PGA, appeared on the Golf Channel, and was recognised by The Chartered society of Physiotherapy as the UK golf expert. Her work in this field was devoted to both reduction of injury and performance enhancement.

Kirsten is the Physiotherapy spokesperson for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy in Scotland and is regularly asked to comment on health issues for major newspapers and television. With her clinics running smoothly with minimal input, Kirsten has begun an ‘Internet Physiotherapy' business called PhysioMedics, designed to enable a user to self-assess and treat their own musculoskeletal problems online.  She and her colleagues are now planning a trial with one NHS board in order to validate and CE Mark the product. 

In her spare time she enjoys entertaining, holidays and loads of massages!
