John Morgan

John Morgan became Managing Director of his first advertising agency at the age of 23 and formed his own company, Morgan Associates, in 1980.  Morgans merged with Struthers Advertising & Marketing in 1990 and later became The Morgan Partnership.

When the Agency’s largest account, Hilton, left the Agency in November 2001, John and his team found it impossible to replace the huge income and the Agency was put into voluntary liquidation that December. After 21 years of riding an industry roller-coaster and finally losing almost everything at the age of 55, he did the only sensible thing: he remortgaged and started again.

John's new company, merle limited, was formed in the same month as the demise of Morgans and now handles such clients as Highland Spring, Linn Products, Robert Wiseman Dairies, Sky Television, Scottish Milk, Careers Scotland (Scottish Enterprise), and the TyrePlus group - the second chain in the Kwik-Fit company.

John is a founder and Board member of the Entrepreneurial Exchange, a past Director of Scottish Enterprise Forth Valley and he says he’s happy to be back on the roller coaster.
