The theme of The Exchange is to 'work hard, play hard and give something back'.

Honouring our pledge to give something back, our members give generously of their time to speak at our events and to back entrepreneurial education initiatives such as the Schools Enterprise Programme.  However, we believe that we also have a responsibility to support the wider community, and to address this we hold an annual Charity Ball - The Entrepreneurs' Ball.

The inaugural Ball raised £140,000 in June 2000 and in 2001 at an 80s themed Ball  just over £300,000 was raised.  In 2002 Exchange members disco danced to raise a staggering £360,000 followed by a further £417,000 raised at the 2003 Entrepreneurs' Ball - Hooray for Hollywood. The 2004 Ball, Entrepreneur Idol, continued to break records generating £640,000 for Scottish children’s charities. TEXAS were the headline act and we partied till dawn having a good time for a great cause.

This year we joined the Make Poverty History campaign with A Blank Canvas - It will be all White on the Night and focused our fund raising on school building projects in Africa with the aim of raising £1 million on the night.  The overwhelming generosity of Exchange members and their guests on Saturday meant that we smashed this figure and raised an unbelievable £1.8 million.
