Biographies

Andrew McAllister is the founder of RAD Software (http://www.radsoftware.com/) the innovative Computer Software and Integration Company that provides robust and effective information systems for Management teams utilising EFACS as the leading edged web based back office system.  RAD has developed a proven track record in delivering world class solutions to predominately innovative and rapidly growing Distribution, Manufacturing and Service organisations and the RAD Software Group is now the largest Scottish based company in its niche.

He studied Mining & Petroleum Engineering and worked as a drilling engineer offshore before getting involved in the implementation of a new corporate IT system.  He has worked in the UK and USA, but enjoys living with his wife in Scotland.

Andrew has been predominately involved in IT businesses for the past 20 years in a variety of technical, sales, marketing, commercial management and executive roles. He is also responsible for the successful development of Integrys Solutions from an embryonic concept, into one of the key Microsoft Axapta Business Partners0, which has won a number of prestigious accounts with a high profile brands both nationally and internationally and is now starting to expand dramatically.

Andrew is also kept busy through a number of other business interests and is currently the Chairman of the Dunbartonshire Local Economic Forum, Non-executive Director for Orion Practice Management Software, Non-executive Director of EDET, Vice-Chairman of the IMF(UK) and is a CBI Council Member.

Martin Ritchie, MR Ventures. Martin, former Founder and Managing Director of Spider Systems, is a "business angel" and supporter of high technology business.  He Chairs Pentland Systems and Stortext FM and is a director of Scapa Technologies, Falkirk Community Stadium and MAAD Operations.  He is a Chairman of Chameleon Trust plc.

Martin was the Founding Chairman of Connect and served on the boards of the Scottish Institute for Enterprise and Systems Level Integration Ltd.  He remains active supporting academic and other initiatives supporting high tech businesses.

Gio Benedetti, Benedetti International (http://www.benedetti-intl.com/). Gio came to Scotland from Italy at the age of 10 and worked in his Uncle's Café during his spare time.

At the age of 19 he purchased a small Dry Cleaning Shop which expanded within 8 years to 16 shops servicing the Ayrshire and Glasgow area.

In 1981 a New Company "ICS" was formed occupying a purpose unit, 70k sq ft Laundry in Kilwinning to exploit a New and Innovative process development by Gio for Reclaiming Industrial Gloves and the rental of Work Wear.

Over the next 7 years ICS grew organically from £500k turnover to £12m and servicing over 3,000 customers in the UK from its base in Kilwinning.  Major customers included Ford Motor Co, Vauxhall, Rover, Nissan, Lucas, GKN and Tesco.  The Company was sold to BET in 1989 for £15m.

In 1987 Gio became a director of Silcock Express, which was a £4m Management buy out from Sears Group.  The Company's revenue grew from £36m to £120m over 6 years and was sold in 1993 for £52m.

In 1992 he purchased Pendigo, a small paper converter with turnover of £2.5m.  With innovation and a range of new dispensers, sales grew to £30m, the company was sold to SCA in 2002 for £10.5m.

Today Giovanni is Chairman and major shareholder of Benedetti International plc, which comprises of 2 companies, Wallace Cameron and Wrap Film Systems, with a projected turnover of £40m in 2005 and projecting a 30% growth in 2006.

All companies are now leaders in the field they operate in with the development and launch of new and innovative products and further new products will be launched in the near future.

The Group's strategy and philosophy is to be the most innovative supplier of Captured Dispensing Systems and Refills in the Food Wrapping & Pharmaceutical Industry.
