Kai McCabe

Executive Director – wish4a.com

Executive Director – Oliver & Murray

Managing Director – Kaiconsultancy Ltd

At the end of 2007 Kai sold her share in Search Consultancy back to the business and left the recruitment industry to pursue other business interests. Kai recently launched wish4a – an online home interior and gift site. The business also sells into the hospitality market. In addition Oliver & Murray is the NPD arm of wish4a. Kai through her consultancy also advises a number of businesses in the Travel, Training and Public Sectors.

As Managing Director of Search Scotland, Kai became part of the management buy-in/buy-out team in February 2000, Kai played the key role in developing Search’s successful business model within the Scottish market. Whilst firmly establishing Search as the leading independent player in Scotland, the successful foot print was rolled out south of the border opening locations in Manchester, Crawley, Leicester, Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham and London, and increasing staff numbers from 170 to over 600. As a result, Search is now recognised as one of the UK’s 100 fastest growing private companies in a recent PricewaterhouseCoopers’ ‘Profit Track 100’.

The company turnover in 2007 was over £120M and NFI has grown at 20% year on year for the last 5.

Kai joined Search in 1995 as Director of their Edinburgh operation and within 3 years was appointed Managing Director for the overall business in Scotland.

Kai, who has an MBA from Edinburgh University Management School, joined the recruitment industry in 1987 and rose to Sales Director of a market leading pharmaceutical consultancy before joining Search

In 2004 Kai won the Business Insiders Elite Readers Award.

Alan Revie started his career in the tyre industry at the age of seventeen as a tyre fitter. Very quickly from that day he started moving up the management ladder working for a number of tyre companies, until eventually working for the German tyre manufacturer Continental.

During his time at Continental Alan was the Managing Director of the UK business and also had the task of opening new businesses in Europe.

In 1996 Alan decided to start his own international tyre trading business, and successfully launched this by trading tyres from all areas of the world, to tyre retailers and wholesalers in Europe.

In 1999 he was one of five founding partners which started the highly successful and pioneering internet tyre company Delti-Com based in Hanover. This business grew rapidly to become a truly global player with sales in over 40 countries. In October 2006 the partners completed a successful IPO and Delti-Com is now listed on the Stock Exchange. Alan has retained an interest in this business and still today sits on the supervisory board of Delti-Com.

In July 2001 Alan was approached by the main board of Continental to look at their retail business in the UK, National Tyre and Autocare. By December 2001, Alan Revie announced the acquisition of National Tyre and Autocare by Axle Ltd., a company he had started only months before.

Since 2001 Axle Group Holdings Ltd. has grown and now has a portfolio of five companies:

National Tyre and Autocare

Viking International

Tyre Shopper (internet)

Channel Island Tyres

Birkenshaw Distributors

The overall turnover of the group in the UK is £170m+ and employs 1400 staff.

During February 2008 Alan created Axle Investments by pulling together all the groups commercial property assets worth £50m.

Alan is also a keen supporter of Breast Cancer Care and the Maggies Centres.
