Brian originates from Musselburgh and joined the Bank in 1972, spending 9 years in Edinburgh branches and the Internal Audit function, followed by a one year MBA at Strathclyde University, sponsored by the Bank. Following this Brian spent 4 years in London, in both the City and West End, and then headed north to Aberdeen where he spent 10 years developing and heading up the Structured Finance function in the North of Scotland. In April 1999 Brian relocated to Glasgow to head up the Bank's corporate activity in the West of Scotland.
Our Chairman for the day is Robert Glennie, Senior Partner of McGrigor Donald since April 2000 and is based in the London office. Robert specialises in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, joint venture agreements and corporate law generally. Robert has been the driving force behind the firm's commitment to developing stronger links with Britain's entrepreneurs. Robert's recent successes include:
* Acting for Dexter Corporation in the sale of its United Kingdom business interests to Ahlstrom and Locktite.
* Acting for Seagram Distillers plc in relation to the restructuring of its Chivas and Glenlivet business divisions.
* Acting for various entrepreneurs (including Tom Hunter and Richard Emanuel) in relation to investments made by them.
Acting for the shareholders of a significant UK credit service company in relation to its restructuring.
