Ian Stevens is the Finance & Operations Director of Optos plc. He was educated in Economics at Edinburgh University, previous careers were with the Royal Air Force and with KPMG Corparate Finance in Oxford and Prague. Ian returned to Edinburgh and joined Optos in 1998. Ian is responsible for Optos's financial/management reporting provision in Boston and Dunfermline and also for the manufacture of the Panoramic 200 Scanning Laser Othalmoscope which is provided to Optometrists and Opthalmologists in over 300 locaitons across the US and UK. He raised over £20m of equity and £10m of debt finance for Optos in various fundraising rounds over the last 4 years.
Born in Yorkshire, England, Paul Atkinson is a serial entrepreneur in the Recruitment Services and Technology business. He founded his third and current business Corarus Search & Selection at the end of 2001. Corarus delivers a unique range of Executive Search and Venture Support servies to the Technology, Professional and Financial Services markets. Prior to this Paul successfully partnered Gordon Adam in building Direct Resources and RecruitmentScotland and then engineered a sale and exit from both businesses at the peak to the last technology boom. He is Director of a number of businesses including the award winning business, LeraningIT and also chairs a panel aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and enterprise to the youth of Scotland. Educated as a Physicist, Paul started his career in the Semiconductors before moving into the IT industry in 1985. He describes himself as a Salesman who happens to have worked as an Engineer, Recruiter, Managment Consultant and Company Director. He has sold, recruited and advised in many business sectors including Electronics, Semiconductors, Finance, Utilities, Software & IT Services, Legal, Accountancy and Management Consulting. Paul enjoys bringing together people and companies to create good business opportunities and is always looking for new ways to network and add value to the connections and contacts he makes.
