Mike Cantlay, Deputy Chairman of VisitScotland (previously STB) and prior to that was an active Board Member of the Scottish Tourist Board. He is a Board Member of the newly formed Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and is also a Member of the Ministerial Taskforce for Local Economic Forums. He has been a Governor of the Scottish Tartan Authority since 1996. He has always been heavily involved in various community initiatives, including the McLaren Leisure Centre in his home town of Callander, where he was Chairman/Director until September 2001. Mike's full-time role is Managing Director and Chairman of Hector Russell Ltd, a group of companies that includes a kiltmaker business with a chain of kilt and tourist stores in Scotland and more recently in Toronto, Seattle and San Francisco. He also operates a specialist whisky retail group operating throughout Scotland and in San Francisco. He is 38 years of age, married, and lives and works in Callander.
