The Entrepreneurial Exchange

Biographies

Simon Coyle, Chief Executive, Kshocolat. While working as an accountant for Diageo back in 2001 Simon launched Kshocolat, a luxury chocolate brand & retail chain.

Kshocolat opened a number of retail stores between 2001 and 2004 and in June 2004 Kshocolat launched their products to the wider retail market. The reaction to the brand was exceptional, giving Kshocolat immediate representation across the UK working with partners ranging from independent delicatessens through to prestige retailers such as Harvey Nichols. Since its market launch in 2004 Kshocolat has grown from a handful of stockists to over 3000 stockists in over 20 countries and has become renowned for its exquisite products and award winning packaging.

In October 2006 Simon launched a second brand called HOT CHOC, a 100% Belgian drinking chocolate. While still premium in nature HOT CHOC was developed to offer many of Kshocolat's ultra premium qualities to the mass grocery market. HOT CHOC was an instant success and by March 2007 HOT CHOC products were available in Tesco, Sainsbury, Morrisons, Waitrose and Budgens, as well as in the US and a number of European markets. HOT CHOC is on target to sell in excess of 1 million units in its first year of trading.

Simon is currently working on developing both the Kshocolat and HOT CHOC brands as well as actively adding further gourmet food brands to his portfolio.

Simon is extremely active in the Scottish business community and is a member of Entrepreneurial Exchange. Simon held the position of Associate Director of the Entrepreneurial Exchange during 2005/2006. He has received a number of accolades since the launch of Kshocolat including reaching the finals of the Arena O2 Entrepreneurial Awards (July 2005) & being included in Scottish Business Insiders Rising Stars list 2005.

Simon lives in Glasgow, is married to Jacqueline and has a 19 month old son Nathan.

The evening will be chaired by Natasha Marshall, Managing Director of Natasha Marshall Fabrics and Wallcoverings, a company that specialises in beautifully designed fabric and wallpaper collections for the retail, contract and hospitality markets across the UK and worldwide.

Natasha has a love for pattern, texture and colour and how these three mediums can be blended together to enhance the living space, not dominate it. Her fabrics and wallpapers help to create an interior that exudes luxury, comfort, warmth and fun. The singular simplicity of her elegant designs produces an air of timelessness, an interior that will not date. It is her aim to grow the appreciation of good design and how it impacts on and improves the individual's quality of life.

With a loan from the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust and a bursary from the Scottish Arts Council, Natasha launched Squigee in 1997, just one year after graduating from Glasgow School of Art.

In 2004 Natasha launched Natasha Marshall Fabric and Wallcoverings, a new retail brand built around her classic simple contemporary surface design. The success of this launch brought the brand to the attention of Today Interiors and a licensing agreement was signed in 2005 to distribute Natasha Marshall Fabric and Wallcoverings worldwide.

Natasha takes time out to support young entrepreneurs through lectures and talks at universities, colleges, schools and business events. She also sits on the board of PSYBT. Natasha is also a past Director of The Entrepreneurial Exchange
