Biographies

Jimmy Gilchrist

Jimmy is the Managing Director of GP Group, comprising of GP Plantscape, GP Green Recycling and GP Artscape. 

GP Plantscape,  which principally supplies and maintains interior and exterior landscaping services, plants and planters and large landscape schemes.   

GP Green Recycling which specialises in the production of high quality organic compost through recycling of green waste within North and South Lanarkshire, which is sold throughout Scotland and North England and to which we are in the process of building a state of the art Food Waste Recycling facility. 

GP Artscape, to which we supply and rent open/limited edition artwork on canvas and frames. 

The GP Group provides a nationwide service and employs approximately 60 people from their Head Office in Kirkfieldbank, Lanark and a further 40 site specific personnel based throughout the UK with offices in Kelty, Newcastle and Blackburn. 

Jimmy is the 4th generation to be involved in the family business and spent time in Denmark and the USA before returning to the UK and spending three years with a multi national service company, thereafter entering the family business. 

During September 2008 Jimmy participated in the "Kilts 2 Kilimanjaro” fundraising expedition, to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in a kilt in aid of one of Scotland’s leading Children’s charities, Aberlour Child Care Trust.  Jimmy is a keen hill-walker and has visited Nepal and the Atlas mountains in Morocco. 

Jimmy is currently a committee member of the British Institute of Facility Managers, a board member The Lanarkshire Chamber of Commerce. 

Jimmy lives in Kirkfieldbank with his wife Alison, son Donald and daughters Erin and Jessie.  

Alan Bonner

Prior to joining the telecoms industry Alan Bonner was sales director for BUPA, responsible for growing the sales distribution from 34, to 523 sales people inside four years, contributing revenues of £35m per annum.

He left BUPA to set up a telecoms consultancy in 1996, during that time he also held the position of National Sales Manager for Atlantic Telecom plc, before founding Pinnacle Telecom Plc in 1998.

Alan aims to build a £50m business, which creates solutions that join together a company's three core networks (IT network, telephony network and mobile network).

Pinnacle is fully licensed Public Telephone Operator, has its own telephone network and interconnects with BT, Virgin Media and THUS. As well as this, it has its own hosted voice (VoIP) platforms and engineers.

It is also Scotland's oldest ISP (and a founder member of Nominet), operating from its data centre in Glasgow, which amongst others manages services for Loganair, Flybe, Salon Services and Holiday Inn Express.

By utilising traditional telephony and existing IT and mobile applications, coupled with next generation and DataStream services, Pinnacle is creating bespoke solutions for organisations, which increase efficiency, reduce cost and provide disaster recovery contingencies for customers.

Pinnacle' has prospered through organic growth, targeted acquisitions and disposals. Today; Pinnacle Telecom Group plc is listed on the London Stock Exchange with its shares traded on the AIM and Plus markets, Pinnacle is one of Scotland's leading providers of converged telecom solutions, bringing together fixed and mobile telephony, VoIP, broadband, IP and telematics solutions, all bundled and serviced wrapped to the client on one bill.
