Eric Flannigan

Eric is the founder of Flannigan Consulting, a specialist, strategy, leadership and company culture consultancy. The consultancy is dedicated to helping business owners who strive to create businesses of growth, distinctiveness and strength.  (www.flanniganconsulting.co.uk)

He offers consultancy, in-company development and behavioural training. These come in the shape of programmes and projects which have been shaped over 20 years of experience working across all sectors and with specific relevance for the growing business.

In particular his approach “Competing on Service” has led to privately owned companies achieving outstanding levels of profitable growth and become market leaders.

In the autumn of 2011 he launched “Dramatically Different Service!”. Using actors and DVD material this approach gives people in customer facing roles the words, behaviours and ability to lift the service experience from being “just ok” to being “outstanding”.

Eric is also known to a significant number of the Exchange members for his work in these areas and also for his supportive one to one consulting with business owners, helping them to play to their strengths, build the best management teams possible and compete on their values.

He is the co-author of “Shaping the Entrepreneurial Company” and contributes to TV, radio and press on the subject of leadership and company culture.

He has an M.A. (honours) degree in English and Scottish Literature ( Glasgow) and an MBA ( Strathclyde Business School).

Ian Kerr

Ian founded ID in 1990 after a police career predominantly spent in the Criminal Investigation Department. He also served in the Serious Crime Squad and during his studies was awarded the “Most Meritorious Student in Scotland in Forensic Science”.

Focusing on the needs of the customer is at the core of Ian’s business philosophy and he is driven by ID’s mission of “protecting the value in your business”. Ian achieves this by always employing top-quality staff to guarantee the integrity of his business and matches this by using robust, quality process-driven systems.

Protecting the value can involve investigating attacks from within, by employees or outwith the business by competitors or others.

Brand Protection is central to ID Inquiries, who represent major companies in the Media, Sport and Corporate Bodies field.

Ian’s interests are golf, photography and reading.  He particularly enjoyed ‘From Good to Great’ by Jim Collins.

Central to Ian’s beliefs are that ID acts with integrity, efficiency and then results.

At present, Ian is mentoring 3 business owners from different business sectors.

Being a former Director of the Exchange, and in appreciating the considerable contribution the Exchange has made to Ian’s business acumen, he firmly believes in giving something back.  Ian is also a Director of the Scottish Campaign of the Board at The Princess Royal Trust for Carers.
