Larsson in the frame to sign off for charity
THE Celtic section of the Entrepreneurial Exchange charity ball in Glasgow next month should be eagerly awaiting the auction to begin. Peter Howson’s latest work of art - a painting of super-striker Henrik Larsson - is up for grabs, but bidders will require deep pockets. It’s thought a reserve price of at least £20,000 will be set and it could go much higher. Howson, below right, is hoping for upwards of £80,000.

That may restrict the bidding to a few tycoons likely to be in attendance, but it might also top the bidding ahead of the usual array of trips to Formula One events and golf holidays.

Larsson, below, who plays his last competitive game for Celtic against Dunfermline in the Scottish Cup Final on May 22, will sign his name alongside Howson’s on the 4ft x 3ft painting. Proceeds will go to the Third Step, a charity for recovering alcoholics and drug addicts.
