Seafood chief nets top award

Bill Hazeldean, who developed Macrae Food Group into one of the UK's biggest producers of ready-to-eat seafood, has been named 2004 Entrepreneurial Exchange Entrepreneur of the Year.

Mr Hazeldean was honoured for creating a firm that was sold for around 40 million earlier this year.

After forming Macrae in a management buy-out of Foodmark's sauce factory in Peterhead in 1994, Mr Hazeldean developed it into an operation with a 87m turnover.
