Entrepreneur set for seminar

ENTREPRENEUR Chris Gorman will outline the secret of his success at the University of Paisley tomorrow.

The 37-year-old Gadget Shop boss, who was appointed an honorary professor of the university last year, will give an insight into how to get ahead in the world of commerce.

It is part of a series of talks at the Paisley campus which are open to all University of Paisley students.

A university spokesperson said:

'Chris Gorman is one of the country's leading entrepreneurs.

'His seminars will benefit students from throughout the university who are keen to find out what it takes to be a success in the business world.'

Gorman, who started out with mobile phone retailer DX Communications, was named as Scottish Entrepreneur of the Year by accountants Ernst & Young in 2000.

He also received the Chamber of Commerce's Young Business Award in the same year.

He was named Business Insider's Young Business Leader of 2003 and is vice-chairman of the Entrepreneurial Exchange.
