Pearse Flynn, the man for whom the phrase 'flamboyant Irish investor' was invented, has cropped up again in Scottish business circles.
Flynn has emerged as part of a consortium of businessmen interested in buying Livingston Football Club, which is in administration.
Flynn famously decided to headquarter Damovo, the telecoms company he ran, in Glasgow because of his love of Celtic Football Club and hid desire not to be too far away from Parkhead. He is a close friend of Eddie Jordan, head of Formula One group Jordan, and Damovo sponsored the racing team a couple of seasons ago.
Quite how Flynn's passion for Celtic FC (not to mention his shareholding in the club) will sit with his new business interest in Livingston is yet to be resolved.
Maybe re-emerges from self-imposed silence to speak at the Entrepreneurial Exchange conference at Gleneagles.
