Graham takes on the world

GRAHAM BUCKNALL, founder and managing director of Edinburgh-based IT consultancy Adventi, was today due to leave for Istanbul as Scotlandís only nominee in the World Young Business Achiever awards.

The awards, which are in their ninth year, are designed to support young entrepreneurs by giving them a chance to represent their countries and share their projects with the world.

Kwik-Fit founder Sir Tom Farmer, who joined Entrepreneurial Exchange chief executive John Anderson at Mr Bucknallís send-off, said: 'Adventi is a great company and Graham deserves enormous respect for what he has achieved in a little over a year.

'I am delighted that Scotland has fared so well in these awards because it brings Scottish entrepreneurial spirit to the attention of the world.'

Scottish retail entrepreneur Tom Hunter, himself a former WYBA winner, added: 'This is a fantastic opportunity for Graham to fly the flag for Scottish entrepreneurialism.'
